We are looking for candidates to join our New York-based team Senior Account Executive or Account Supervisor We are seeking a mid-level (SAE/AS+) corporate communications/media relations professional. As a manager, you will be responsible for serving both as an account/project manager and as an individual contributor for several biotech clients that have specific corporate communication, financial communication, and media relations needs. Specific responsibilities may include account management activities such as budgetary planning, new business pitches, designing and executing media campaigns and leading/mentoring junior staff. Specific media relations responsibilities will include cultivating media relationships for our biotech and specialty pharma clients, creating compelling story angles and ideas, pitching news stories to traditional and online media, and leveraging social media; responding to media inquiries and writing and distributing media materials such as press releases. Job Requirements Qualified candidates should have a proven track record of media relations results, some established media relationships, excellent writing and editing skills, and a strong interest in science and medicine. A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of communications/public relations experience, ideally in an agency setting, with an emphasis on media relations is also required. Our firm, in attending the American College of Rheumatology meeting last week, learned once again to eat our fruit. Not that we needed to be reminded.
